Local service business software stack: the essential tools

A simple software stack for bookings, payments, customer records, accounting, marketing, and reporting.

A practical service-business stack usually starts with five jobs: capture demand, schedule work, store customer records, collect payment, and understand performance. Choose tools that make those jobs visible without duplicating data.

For many small teams, one operations platform plus accounting, email, and a website is enough. Add separate marketing automation, CRM, inventory, or reporting tools only when the core platform cannot support the workflow.

Review the stack every quarter. Remove duplicate tools, check user permissions, confirm exports, and make sure every subscription still has a clear owner and purpose.
